Shaukheen remake- Akshay Kumar and Nargis Fakhri to romance on screen

The remake of the 1982 Basu-Chatterjee comedy Shaukheen ,is all set to be directed by Rumi Jaffrey. The story revolves around three old men drooling over a young neighbourhood girl .

The leading roles will be played by Akshay Kumar and Nargis Fakhri in the remake and the two will be seen romancing on-screen for the first time. Paresh Rawal , Annu Kapoor and Anupam Kher have been roped in for playing the roles of the three old men while the original film had the veterans – Utpal Dutta , A.K. Hangal and Ashok Kumar in the roles of the three old men.

In Shaukheen (1982) Mithun Chakravarty had played the role ,now given to Akshay . Though it was a small one ,in the original version , reports have it, that the part has been extended considerably to fit in the actor who will be playing Mithun’s role now. Actress Nargis Fakhri whom we had first seen in the much-hyped film Rockstar , will be essaying the role , previously done by Rati Agnihotri.

According to the latest media news , Akshay has charged a whoping 45 crore for his role even though it is not a full-fledged one.
