Abhirami set to play police officer in upcoming film

Malayalam actress Abhirami is making a comeback after 10 years with soon to be released film ‘Apothecary’. But as per industry reports, she all already involved in another project in which she is set to play a police officer. The film in question is ‘Driver On Duty’. In the film Abhirami will be playing the role of sub inspector Arundathi Varma. Her character is said to be based on the real life lady Kuttiyamma, one of earliest women police officers in the state of Kerala. Abhirami, was settled in US after marriage but decided to return to the world of films after her Virumandi co-star, legendary actor Kamal Hassan insisted her. The two of them got in touch during the dubbing work of the film ‘Vishwaroopam’. She was lending voice to Pooja Kumar, the leading lady of the film.

Abhirami’s comeback film ‘Apothecary’ will feature her as the leading lady opposite Suresh Gopi . She has already worked twice with Suresh Gopi in the films ‘Pathram’ and ‘Megasandesham’. ‘Apothecary’ is a thriller film with medical theme directed by Madhav Ramadasan. On the other hand, ‘Driver On Duty’ will be a comedy film, directed by the debutant Manoj Paloden.
