Mumbai police malayalam movie review

The super director Roshan Andrews after a short break is back with his new flick “Mumbai Police”,with Prithviraj playing the lead role. The movie is enriched with the presence of popular actors like Jayasurya,Rahman,Aparna nair etc.The movie is a crime thriller. As every crime thriller starts this movie also starts with the search for a culprit who had commited a murder.Even though the story is a crime thriller it’s taken in a totally different manner.

The movie begins with Prithviraj attending a phone call while he was driving and suddenly he met with an accident there starts the real drama Mumbai police. After the accident prithviraj will fall in to an unconscious state i.e he forgets everything about his past .After some time he will get back in to the investigation with this disorder .This makes the movie really interesting .The investigation happens in a hot manner because the victim who was murdered is a police officer(jayasurya) and more over he was a friend of prithviraj. Then the movie moves out with certain shocking situations and search behind many persons to find the culprit .Finally he will get caught.

The first half of the movie is really interesting and thrilling and it is capable of making the viewers charged and about the second half ,as it is taking the viewers more close to the story it makes the viewers anxious but with the climax every viewer will get disappointed. The climax of the movie is framed very badly ,even though it is an unexpected move but such a climax is surely going to drain the image of Prithviraj .In simple words we can pronounce the climax as a “Dirty Climax” which makes the movie the most worst. The movie comes under the category of watchable with a small suggestion that better don’t watch the climax part .

  • Direction and Camera was superb. We can say it as a brilliant move from the director Roshan Andrews
  • Acting of Prithviraj
  • Jayasurya had made his role remarkable
  • Eventhough Aparna doesn’t have much to do .She played his part well
  • Rahman played his role a bit better than everyone in the movie.
  • Script till the climax part

Everything with the movie seemed to be good except the climax part.

Rating : 2.75/5
Verdict : Entertaining till before the climax. Brilliant script goes in a wrong direction thereafter

Ladies and Gentleman malayalam movie review

The most awaited movie of the year “Ladies and Gentleman” released today. The movie is directed by the Hitmaker Siddique casting Mohanlal as the Hero .The Heroines of the movie are Meera jasmine ,who rejoins the industry after a long break,Mamtha Mohandas,Mithra kurien and Padmapriya. This movie was considered so special because it’s after a two decade break Mohanlal and Siddique are rejoining.

Ladies and gentle man is a movie that tells the story of a middle aged young man Chandra bose who decided to enjoy his life in the way it goes,he is also a drunkard .The main threads of the movie deals with how this person influences the life of four ladies. The initial part of the movie deals with some humorous situations and there by enters in to the main thread. Till the end of first half the movie seemed to be interesting and suddenly by the end of first half of the movie the audience can easily predict the next lead and there by drains the energy level of the audience. The second part includes some simple situations that have been created to make a happy ending climax.

After watching the movie the audience will understand the truth that the script is simply made only for showing a lal effect and actually the script and other characters are driven by the same .When we match the movie with our expectation before the watch , it’s a totally disappointing movie from the side of such a big team “Mohanlal & Siddique”.The movie will be interesting if you are that much addicted to Mohanlal.

Performance of Mohanlal as Chandra boss

Performance of Meera Jasmin was ok

Other actors simply performed their role well, even though they were not having much importance.

Direction of siddique ,especially the way he had done the work was good .

First Half

The movie was full of Lal effect ,it seemed to be the other characters doesn’t have much importance in the movie.

Script of the movie

Second half and climax

Verdict : Disappointing ,Recommended for one time watch

3 dots malayalam movie review

The movie 3 Dots has marked the 45th movie that was released in 2013 till date. The film has been given various striking features in order to make people notice it even before the release of the film. The team that made this film had previously made ‘Ordinary’ which did pretty well at the theaters. Hence the people were expecting yet another good movie to be watched. This film has been directed by Sugeeth and has Biju Menon, Kunchacko, Pratap K. Pothan, Narain, Reman, Anjana Menon and Janani Iyer in the lead roles. The story has been written by Rajesh Raghavan.

The story of the movie revolves around three different criminals who happen to meet when they were in jail. They generally become friends after this. The three criminals namely, Vishnu (played by Kunchacko), Louis (played by Biju Menon) and Padmakumar (played by Prathap Pothen) had a sullen life and found their lost happiness behind the jail bars by spending time with each other. After they were released each one of them decides to lead a normal life by forgetting the past events. Hence, they get into different jobs. As the movie progresses we are able to understand that the three people represent three phases of lives of a single person-the past, present and future, and cannot exist without one another.

In totality this movie has thrills that will keep the interest of the audience intact till the end. It is highly entertaining and shows a unique relationship between the three leads. The entry of Naren for the role of Dr. Issac keeps the pace and the humor of the movie alive till the end. We also see some excellent camera work by Faisal Ali and some good music by Vidyasagar. To add conclusion to this, 3 Dots is a movie that is watchable and thoroughly entertaining.

Verdict :Above average /Watchable

Red wine Malayalam Movie Review

The story of Red Wine revolves around two characters. One is Anoop (played by Fahad Fazil), who is a theatre artist by profession and the second one is Rameshan (played by Asif Ali) who is a sales executive of an automobile company. Anoop is a man whose hometown is Wayanad. He is a much disciplined individual and is committed to drams and other social issues. Ramesh on the other hand lives in Kozhikode and leads his own life peacefully without bothering anybody else. Although the lives of these two strangers do not match, there lies a connection between them that is unknown to both. The story takes a twist when an incident brings the investigation officer, Ratheesh Vasudevan (played by Mohanlal) to the screen. The story which follows this is full of thrills and suspense. These make the movie an interesting watch till the end. We also see Anoop’s classmates Navas (played by Saiju Kurup) and Sree Lekshmi, Navas’s wife (played by Anusree), in pivotal roles in the film.

Being the most anticipated Mollywood movie, the movie saw loads of audience in the theatres who went to watch their favorite actors play on the silver screen. at the start of the film, the theatres were packed as the people gathered to watch one of the most awaited films of the year. However, if one analyses the film critically, he will find that the new director has various areas to be worked upon and requires much more skill while he is directing a film. The story of the film is way too old. It revolves around the case of a murder. Now, the Malayali audience has been viewing such films for at least three decades. Hence, something fresh and new was naturally wanted. Although the take off was excellent, after some time it movie tumbled down the expectations that had been build. The suspense that the director had brought about in the first phase of the movie seemed to vanish in the second phase. The thrill of the movie that had been created initially seemed to end with no surprise at all.

The movie saw the display of brilliant talent by Fahad Fazil. With his excellent skill he brought life to the character of Anoop. He stole the show with his acting. His way of throwing dialogues, and the various actions that he showed on the screen made the audience grip their chairs with immense anticipation. The character of Remeshan, played by Asif could have been much better than what it was. Asif’s talents were not exposed as it should have. Needless to say, the best performance delivered in the movie was by Mohanlal. However, is limited on screen presence left the audience wanting for more. Many are of the view that if the movie contained less number of characters it could have been way better. For some time it seemed that the director was not able to handle the characters well.

On the technical part we see some excellent cinematography by Manoj Pillai and some brilliant art direction by Santhosh Raman. The music delivered by Bijibal was impressive but nothing out of the world. In a nutshell, Red Wine is a movie that could not match up to the expectation that the audience had set for it. It could have been more polished. However, it managed to make the audience leave the theaters smiling, although not for a long time.

Verdict: Above average

Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla malayalam movie review

Natholi cheriyoru meenalla is the new venture of director V.K.prakash after Popins , Trivandrum lodge, beautiful etc….starring Fahad fazil, kamalini mukherjee and Reema kallingal. The script of the movie is done by Shankar ramakrishnan who had written the script for several successful movies.Natholi cheriyoru meenalla can be considered as an expirement of V.K.prakash like his other movies but the fact of failure in majority of his movies continues with his new venture also.
Natholi cheriyoru mennalla is a triangular love story mixed with some comic situations.Basically the movie discuss the conflict between a writer and the character he creates.Fahad is playing dual roles preman, representing a person living in urban area and Narendran representing a villager.About Preman he is care taker of an apartment at cochin and every one in that apartment calls him as “Natholi” there he meets the two girls kamalini mukherjee and Reema kallingal residing in the same apartment and the later part of the movie deals with the involvement of this ladies in his life.
Fahad fazil is playing his character fantastically in this movie. His expressions and dialogue delivery showcased the talent which he has.
The performance of Kamalini mukherjee was also nice .
The role of Reema kallingal seemed to be below average and her performance doesn’t come up to the mark.
Eventhough the other characters doesn’t had much to perform their performance was ok.
Overall Review
The theme of the movie seemed to be interesting but the script by Shankar ramakrishnan failed to meet the expectation of the audience. The first half of the movie seemed to be ok, even though it involved a bit lag but when comparing with the second half the first half seemed to be better.Nothing much to tell about the movie it can be categorized as a below average movie which doesn’t have anything new to convey. The crowd after the show seemed to be totally disappointed.Failure in synchronization of dubbing for Kamalini mukherjee seemed to be another drawback.

Rating :2.25/5
Verdict :Not recommended for watching.A below average movie which doesn’t have anything new to convey.

Romans malayalam movie review

Romans is a Malayalam movie directed by Boban Samuel, starring Kunchako Boban and Biju Menon. The story is quite predictable, but one can clearly see the amount of effort put in by Boban Samuel. His effort has made the movie really light hearted and incredibly fun to endure, especially when one is watching the movie with friends and family.

Romans is a story about two thieves-portrayed by Biju Menon and Kunchako Boban. These two thieves manage to escape from police custody and go to the Tamil Nadu- Kerala Border. Due to some misunderstanding, the village people end up thinking that these are the priests that have come to reopen their church. More misunderstandings follow and one gets a roller coaster ride of hilarity- thanks to the good acting delivered by the actors.

The movie has been influenced by “We’re No Angels”, a Hollywood movie. The movie might not have much in the form of a script, but the director and the two actors have done a spectacular job in their roles. Boban Samuel knows how to differentiate this movie from the standard comedy flicks that come out every single year. Though the story seems to be lacking, the movie does not seem to go on for longer than it should. It is actually quite fast paced and the number of jokes and other comedic elements in the movie make the time fly faster. It is a film that gathers pace as it progresses- since the second half is not just faster than the first part, but also incredibly funny. What is surprising is the fact that the movie combines comedy with suspense- something not a lot of story tellers or directors manage to achieve.

Verdict :Average Movie ,But it is entertaining and perfect for an evening out.

Bavuttiyude Naamthil malayalam movie review

The movie Bavuttiyude Naamthil, has been written by Ranjith and directed by GS Vijayan. It is a comedy movie, where Ranjith has proved himself as a promising writer once again. His natural ability to cast a spell with his words has yet again proved positive and successful for his career.

With the best comical actors in the leading roles, the movie is going to be one of the most exciting as well as enthralling ones of the year. The character of Bavutti played by Mammootty on screen was probably the best of the lot. Others like Vineeth and Kavya Madhavan have also put forward their best effort to make the audience laugh their hearts out. The storyline of the movie has simplicity attached to it to the core. But, writer Ranjith has done wonders in making this simple story watchable.

The great potential narration and the comic situations created all throughout has been portrayed marvelously by the director. The entire story revolves on the various aspects of handling a good married life, the various challenges that one has to face while he or she is married, and how one should always support and look after the other to obtain peace in the end.

The beginning of the movie till the interval has been taken up mostly by Mammooty and his brilliant comical performance. His highlighted use of slangs and great deliver of dialogues steals the show right away. The second part of the movie is comparatively serious than the first. However, Kavya’s performance on the whole is commendable. The relation showed between these two characters has been done beautifully by the scriptwriter and the director. The actors fit so well into the characters that there is no space for awkward moments throughout the movie. Built on a simple plot, the story unfolds in front of our eyes with the great editing.

Verdict: Entertaining ,Family  watch

Rating: 3.25/5
