Janatha garage movie review

Koratala Siva latest flick “Janatha Garage” begins with this note. Although touted as a masala commercial movie it is a movie based on family and familial relationships. As NTR has teamed up with Koratala Siva after the success of “ Nannaku Prematho”, the second film of the duo “Janatha Garage” has created a significant buzz among the movie goers with high expectations. Moreover, with the casting of Mohanlal the undisputed king of Malayalam movies has added fire to the rage of this films release. The trailers have been immensely popular and it was promoted as the biggest release, hitting screens in Malayalam and Telugu languages simultaneously. The movie is produced under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers.

NTR performance alone is the biggest USP of the film, and he doesn’t disappoints his fan. NTR delivers his best performance in recent times. He is exceptionally good and plays his character with the right balance of sensitivity and intensity. NTR fans will be delighted by the script that elevates the hero to a God like stature, where his ability is many notches above an ordinary person and almost equivalent to a super hero. Overall, NTR can be credited for single-handedly executing brilliant performances in different scenes. Mohanlal is still undoubtedly on top of his craft even now, and plays his character with the caliber of a superstar.

The film begins with Satyam Garu (Mohanlal) running ‘Janatha Garage’, a small mechanic shop in Hyderabad. Satyam plays Robin hood to the local people and in the midst of his social service, Satyam’s brother gets killed by the goons of the corrupt politicians. Satyam sends his brother’s son to leave with his relatives in Mumbai. The son grows up to be Anand (NTR) who is a passionate and brilliant environmentalist. Anand develops a bitter rivalry with a local MLA and is sent away to Hyderabad by his relatives. At Hyderabad, Satyam impressed by Anand’s authenticity and ability summons him to join Janatha Garage. The duo then go on to helping people unjustifiably subdued by corrupt and powerful people.

The film stands out on the intense characterization of Mohanlal as Satyam and exceptionally brilliant performance of Anand character by NTR. Saikumar and Unni Mukundan did justice to their roles. Samantha and Nithya had very short roles, unfortunately they could not display their acting prowess, if any. Female actress roles were unfortunately not fleshed out and lacked emotional appeal. Additionally, the characterization of the villain was very weak. Lion’s share of the screen time was shared between Mohanlala and NTR.

Music by Devi Sri Prasad is exceptionally beautiful. Kajal Agarwal performs special item song “Pakka Local”, and does justice to her performance. She looks glamorous and performs an attractive number. Pakka Local was choreographed with much finesse and both NTR and Kajal danced superbly. Other equally popular songs are ‘Pranamam Pranamam’, ‘Jayaho Janatha’, ‘Apple Beauty’. The songs stand out in their emotional appeal for both the youth and mature audience. The songs blend well into the narrative of the story and enhances the emotional quality of the script. Background score is also outstanding. Cinematography by Thiru is spell binding. Fight choreography by Anal Arasu is equally thrilling and racy. Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is flawless and near perfect. Production design by A.S. Prakash is equally commendable.

The first half of the movie is quite slow paced but the movie picks up rather rapidly in the second half. The plot was predictable to a certain extent and their are certain cliched moments in the film. The plot of the movie unfortunately has some unrealism to the point of being absurd. For example, a scene is played out where the chief minister calls for all-part meeting and in the meeting he abandons a project objected by Mohanlal’s character. This is quite far fetched as Satyam is just an owner of a mechanic shop. The bomb blast scene is hugely disappointing as it does nothing to add substance to the script. The characterization of the villain is certainly laughable as the villain, a wealthy business owner fears Mohanlal to an extent that he is unable to expand his business for the last two and half decades. Mohanlal’s character although a mere garage owner seems to have an inexplicable amount of power to intimidate such powerful characters. Despite all
disappoints the Government office scene between NTR and Rajeev Kanakala is brilliantly executed by Koratala Siva demonstrating his directorial prowess and his competent dialogue writing ability.

Aside from the minor flaws in the plot the film has many attractions that make it an enjoyable watch. NTR and Mohanlal’s magical performance, spectacular cinematography, beautiful music and choreography and smooth editing and realistic production design are all winners. Janatha Garage has been widely applauded by the public and the critics. We rate it as 3/5. The movie certainly has an undeniable mass appeal.

The film has portrayed him in two styles. First as a romantic guy who woos his love and the other is a ravenous hero who is ready to plunge on to his enemies. The film is pivoted completely with his performance as he takes up most of the screen time and space. His style has been presented uniquely and the debutant director has left no stones turned while bringing out the scenes on the screen.

Brahmanandam has done quite well in creating certain comic scenes. Anushka too has performed quite and most of the second half remains alive due to her. The chemistry between Prabhas and Anushka has been portrayed brilliantly by the director. Richa has mild performance in the brief time that she has been allotted.

The cinema has been given some beautiful and melodious scores by Devi Prasad; the director has put in certain excellent dialogues that have kept the movie entertaining all throughout. It is evident that the fans of Prabhas are going to be very much impressed by the performance put up by him in the movie.

Midhunam telugu movie review

Midhunaam has created another success story in the chapter of Tanikella Bharani, who directed it. It has Lakshmi and SP Balasubramanyam as the star cast. The movie is a greatly emotional one. It has moved the audience so much that there were many people who could not control their emotions after they came out of the theatres with tears rolling down their eyes. Kudos to Bharani, who weaved a tale so powerful, that it overwhelmed almost all the people, who watched it. These actions are enough to speak about how the movie came out and what the result was.

The story of the movie goes on like this. An old couple, Buchchi and Appalaraju live in a village while their children are settled in the United States. The story revolves around their lives and how the couple tries to find happiness even at the pettiest of things, cows, a little garden etc. their cute fights and how they make up after that form a sweet little tale on how a supporting and caring partner is enough to lead a happy life. How the film ends is a must watch on the screens. It is unimaginable that Bharani would direct such an emotional tale to move to the audience. However, the lead cast Balasubramanyam and Lakshmi were outstanding in their respective roles. The efforts that they have put to create the perfection of these roles are worth commending. The scenes were so natural and well made that one does not find it difficult to associate with them. Every little aspect of the movie, the dialogues, the screenplay, the script, are worth applauding. The dialogues especially that take place between the old couple are so sweet that it fails to bore the audience even for a single minute. Although the film is based on two characters only, they have created a whole new world which is complete only with the two of them.

Verdict: Good movie , Chance to win awards . Not Recommended to all sections of audience

Adhinayakudu telugu movie Review

Adhinayakudu is a great visual treat to balakrishna fans as he plays three different get ups in this movie But it is a fact that fans may express their view about the movie as decent but it’s easy for a person who love cinema to rate this movie as an average one .
The movie tells us the story about a strong and powerful political leader Rama Krishna Prasad (Balakrishna) in Rayalaseema. The other politicians and the police men’s who were irritated by his doings plans to kill him with the help of a professional killer Kittu (Balakrishna). But when kittu realizes the fact that Rama Krishna is his father he tries to protect him. Rama Krishna is the son of Harischandra Prasad (Balakrishna), who was a strong personality in seema politics. The story continues with several political dramas . The later lead of the story can be enjoyed by you at cinema’s near you.
The movie comes in to a category of watchable eventhough the director of the movie was confused about the story line of the movie. The role played by lakshmirai drains the movie in to a lagging pose. The opening scene of bhramanadham had given the viewers a comic mood but failed during the lead. The first half is pretty interesting eventhough there are some lags it includes energetic scenes and super dialogues from balakrishna.Looking in to the caste performance balakrishna played all his three charecters in an interesting way.As already told the performance of Lakshmi rai was only up to an average level .The performance by other leadng roles like Kota Srinivasa Rao, Murali Sharma, Pradeep Rawat, Jayasudha were good.
The back works of the movie can be categorized as follows:
Music:Good
Editing:Poor
Cinematography:Average
Direction :ok

Rating: 3/5

Verdict : Good for one time watch

Gabbar Singh Telugu Movie Review

Gabbar Singh movie has all sorts of colors of joy, romance, friendship and of course the fire of revenge and violence. This movie will surely convince the teens and youngsters due to the presence of action, high voltage love and sacrifice.

The story starts in a village where Naidu played by Nagineedu decides to marry a girl played by Suhasini. She has a son named Venkataratnam Naidu (Pawan Kalyan). Venkata has watched Sholay many times and tried to imitate the character of Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan). He thinks of himself being Gabbar and he has the strong intention to become a police officer. The director has used its strong imagination and intelligence to sketch the character of Gabbar. After becoming a police officer, he has been sent to his own hometown Kondaveedu. In this village, general folks spend sleepless nights due to constant threats of Siddhappa Naidu. This mischievous person is a goon and a political big boss. His bluish butcher’s eyes seem to be extremely horrendous and lethal to those who like to lead peaceful lifestyles. Here, this investigative officer has to face a caustic showdown with the criminal cum political magnet. In-between, viewers will be energized to watch the spicy romantic snapshots and intimate close-ups. In this village, the cop has fallen in love with Bhagyalakshmi (Shruti Hassan). She is a cute girl. Now, viewers will have to wait to see the final episodes of the movie to know about the final outcome.

Evaluation Process

Pawan Kalyan is always genius. He is energetic and talented. His ironical gestures and satiric tone will certainly give lot of scope to viewers to roll in will laughter. On the other hand, the arrival of Shruti in the movie is very significant and brilliant. She has a charming smile and her performance is really appreciable. Ali, Brahmanandam and Ranjit Kumar are also important actors whose contributions need to be appreciated and honored.

Jayanan Vincent is an excellent cinematographer and he has shown his talent by producing the extraordinary audio-visual effect. He has perfectly used the multimedia technology to make the movie more glamorous. Gauthamraju’s editing efficiency is noticeable. Neeku Naaku Dash Dash Telugu Movie Review

Neeku Naaku Dash Dash Movie Review

Cast: Prince,Nandhita, Teertha

Director: Teja

Producer: V Anand Prasad

Music: Yashwanth Nag

The film ‘Neku Naka Dash Dash’ is produced by V Anand Prasad and is directed by Teja under the name of Bhavya Creations. Siva played by Prince is a straight forward and honest youth but is forced to work in an illegal liquor organization owned by Bapineedu. In the meantime, Gayatri played by Nanditha also works there and in a very short time both of them falls in love. Their love gets leaked and leads to some unexpected twists. The rest of the story is how Gayatri and Shiva face the twists. The film introduces 42 new faces in Tollywood. The main character in the film is Prince, who is tall and handsome and did good job as a debutant but his acting make us remember Mahesh Babu in some scenes. His dance is good.

Nanditha, the female lead is convincing and looked glamorous in the entire film. She seemed to be comfortable with her role and is quite talented as well as impressive. Jai, Venu are ok and the one who performed Bapineedu is justifying. Suman Shetty needs to be specially mentioned among the cast who has provided a good comic relief. Others are adequate and the story line is interesting.

It is for the first time that a film is shot with red epic camera but the cinematography is average. The music scored by Yashwanth is good while the background music by Anoop Rubens is just below average. Dialogues are good at places and editing would have been better. Direction by Teja is comparatively better than his previous movie and the screenplay is predictable in the second part of the film. The director has come up with distinct but thin storyline of a liquor mafia backdrop but the screenplay is predictable. Some of the scenes are raw with rusty dialogues. The climax of the film fails to grab the interest of the audience.

Rating: 2.5/5

Verdict: it is a regular film of Teja and has nothing new to offer.

Friends Book Telugu Movie Review

Friends Book Movie Review

Cast: Nischal, Uday, Surya, Gemini Suresh, suresh, Rao Ramesh, Chalapathi Rao, Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao, Archana Sharma, Nisha Shetty and Preeti

Direction: RP Patnaik

Production: Vijayaprasad Malla

Music: RP Patnaik

R.P Patnaik, the veteran film director has come up with his second venture, a movie titled ‘Friends Book’. The movie features Uday, Surya, Archana, Nischal, Nisha Shetty and Suresh in the lead roles. The movie is produced by Welfare Creations group. The film revolves round a group of friends who are involved in various fields of life. All of them are very unhappy with their respective jobs and share a common aim of establishing a profitable business. So as to achieve their aim, they quit and think about making software which can identify and remove the accounts which are fake from the popular site Facebook. They achieved success in their design and submit a proposal to Facebook. Their proposal gets accepted and when everything seems to be in their favour, a shocking twist comes in their way. The rest of the story is what is the twist and will they succeed in making money.

The plus points of the film are that the actors Nischal, Suresh and Surya did justice to their roles. Nisha Shetty and Archana were ok so far as their performance is concerned, while it is Rao Ramesh who steals the show with good performance in a negative role. The first half of the film is breezy with the suspense being maintained throughout the film. Comedy is quite good at places while direction is also good in the first half and some songs are shot well.

The minus points however, come in the form that the director fails in clarity on the technical aspect. Some silly mistakes are made in the concept of software to identify the fake accounts and in the way it does things. The second half is disappointing and there are mistakes in the screenplay. There is lack of clarity in the message delivered by the director and the story keeps wandering between a murder mystery and a psychological thriller. Editing is jerky with scope of improvements and the dialogues are good. Cinematography is not proper.

Rating: 2.5/5

Verdict: it is a poor film with not much logic in it and one can stay away from the film.

Racha telugu movie review

Racha Movie Review

Cast: Ram Charan, Tamanna Bhatia, Ajmal Ameer

Director: Sampath Nandi

Producer: NV Prasad, Paras Jain

Music: Mani Sharma

The Telugu movie ‘Racha’ featuring Ram Charan Tej and Tamanna has already hit the screens on the 5th of April with the highest number of prints. It is directed by Sampath Nandi and is jointly produced by N.V. Prasad and Paras Jain. Ram Charan has missed the Hat trick after two successful films coming his way. He is now back with an entertainer with his stunts and dancing along with the glamour of Tamanna. The story of the film is based on Raju played by Charan who earns his living with clever bettings and goes into a betting with James played by Ajmal Ameer so as to make Chaitra played by Tamanna fall in love with him. For this he joins the college of Chaitra as a medical student and finally she falls in love with him. In the meantime, Chaitra’s father played by Mukesh Rishi, a powerful don enters the scene and the rest is what forms the crux of the film.

The story of the film runs on the commercial sequence of romance, fights and songs. Bhramanandan, Thagubothu Ramesh has provided its audience with some comedy. Sampath Nandi has done nothing new except the things which can be predicted. He has compromised with the addition of thrills and comedy sequences as he had in it Mega Power. Tamanna was not well utilised. The first half of the film is entertaining with blend of emotion and entertainment. The tempo goes down in the second half due to the conventional tradition narration and prediction but comes back with in the pre climax scenes and ends on a good note.

Although the movie is not so good with substance but so far as the performance of Ram Charan is concerned, he has improved a lot. He maintained perfect timing in comedy and was full of energy in all his actions. It is infact he took the whole film in his shoulders. Tamanna was hot and was on par with Charan in dances. She was glamorous with her action, looks and sex appeal. Bhramanandam was hilarious all throughout like Rangeela. Mukesh Rishi and Kota Srinivas Rao did well in their performances. Partthiban has a brief role but leaves an impact in its audience.

Speaking about the technicalities, the production values are great. Dialogues by Parchuri Brothers are satisfactory though dialogues for emotional scenes were lengthy. Music by Mani Sharma was average. Fight sequences seems to be unnatural while cinematography done by Sameer Reddy is the major asset of the film. Editing could have been better. The first half of the movie is quite entertaining with good fights, comedy and dances while in the second half the story unfolds and the bamboo fight sequence come out well. The second half of the film is good to watch with twists and turns and a powerful climax. So far as the content of the film is concerned it is not unique but it does not mean that it fails to impress one. With a long weekend ahead and no big releases this week, ‘Racha’ would turn out to be a commercial hit. It is a masala film and a good entertainer. From all aspects of the film it is not unique in its content but a good entertainer to watch in this weekend. The performances of Tamanna and Ram Charan, screenplay, dialogues and Background music grab the attention of the audiences while its predictable story and the routine work brings it down to some extent.

Rating: 3.5/5

Verdict: the film is a good entertainer and can be watched for full entertainment.

Lovely Telugu Movie Review

Lovely Movie Review

Cast: Aadhi, Anchal, Shanvi,Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore

Director: B.Jaya

Producer: BA Raju

Music: Anoop Rubens

Aadi, the son of Sai Kumar is back with the film titled ‘Lovely’ after his successful debut in Prema Kavali. Lavanya played by Shanvi and Akash played by Aadi meets each other in disguise of their friends Kittu played by Vennele Kishore and Lalli played by Chinmayi. They fall in love and as usual in the beginning Lavanya’s father played by Mangalampalli Maharadhi does not like Akash. He decides to know him better and disguises himself as a servant and goes to Akash’s home. What follows next is the climax of the film.

The film is a romantic entertainer with a touch of father sentiment. The film would have been smooth in its narration and simple in its execution. But the narration was confused and has made it complex in the end. The setup of the film is not very effective and it took off on a dull note. Things however, gets better as the story progresses but it fails to impress its audience due to technical errors and bad direction. The music in the film was good and did lift it at times and has kept the interests alive. Bad direction is the major drawback in the film. The climax of the film is not as expected and most part of it is left to the imagination of the audience.

So far as the performance is concerned, Aadi is confident and an energetic dancer. However, there is scope of improvement in his expression so as to develop as an actor. Shanvi is good looking but fails to impress. Rajendra Prasad is ok and his presence has added to the worth to the film. Vennela Kishore did a good job and is supported well by Chinmayi. Others did well in their respective roles. Dialogues are good in parts while music scored by Anup is the centre of attraction of the movie. The background set is also quite ok. Cinematography is good for a film of low budget and one of the drawbacks is the editing of the film. So far as the direction is concerned, it is ok in some scenes but not upto the mark in the other scenes. The film would have been better if the director could have maintained the grip in the entire film.

Verdict: it is a film with both positive and flaws at some vital points but can be watched just for time pass.

Rating: 2.5/5

Ishq Telugu movie review

Love is charming and sweet to feel. You must have a deep passion for someone who seems to be so dear to you. However, in Ishq, maybe you will not be much benefited to learn the basics of love. Better to say, Ishq has the romantic lackluster. It is a sort of family drama. The director named Vikram K Kumar is highly competent. He has the razor sharp intelligence and delicate artistic grandeur to paint a love story using the imaginative vehicle, deep intuitive power and artistic elegance to heighten up the spirit of love.

However after all, it is a romantic movie in which you will find two talented and young celebrities named Nithiin and Nithya Menen to perform brilliantly. So far so good, the director has tried his best to utilize talent of these actors properly. On the other hand, there are other performers to act brilliantly in this upcoming film. To top it all, the cinematography is excellent. P.C. Sreeram must be given a special treatment and warmth appreciation due to his outstanding contribution to the cinematography of Ishq.

The story of this movie starts with a triangle love affair. After separation from her childhood lover, Priya made elopement with Rahul. They are very much enthusiastic and excited to start their lives dynamically. However, there is also danger which disturbs these two romantic lovers. The caustic showdown between Shiva and Rahul due to the family feud which snowballs into a short melee is painful for Priya. Rahul smashed Shiva for his wild temperament to treat Divya badly. This type of action packed movie is glamorous. However, it won’t be a world famous romantic movie. You will have to do a comparison study before coming to a conclusion. Priya has the efficiency to perform excellently to create a sensational romantic ambience, but she is not allowed to use her romantic adroitness freely. She has been given restrictions to appear more aggressive. However, the director has strained every nerve to punch the flavor into the movie.

Verdict: Ishq is a type of light romantic movie. However, it is not capable of gifting the high voltage romance to people. It is good but not better in the creation of romantic grandeur.
